Key Findings and Implications for Action
With employees spending two-thirds of waking hours at the workplace, businesses have an important role to play in supporting healthy lifestyles within their local communities. To evaluate the current state of workplace well-being efforts in St. Louis, Missouri, the 2015 St. Louis Employer Health Benefits and Wellness Survey was created. This report highlights responses from 107 local companies participating in the survey, as well as key insights to assist businesses and community partners in identifying future opportunities.
Beyond Four Walls: Report and Case Studies
The Vitality Institute
This report shares evidence and a call to action to increase cross-sector collaboration that generates systemic health improvements across society. To demonstrate the relationship between employment sector and county health, The Vitality Institute analyzed health data (smoking, obesity, physical inactivity, diabetes, and death due to cardiovascular disease) across more than 3,100 U.S. counties. Interviews were also conducted with 33 employers across different industries and 38 community organizations, documenting case study examples of cross-sector collaboration and providing guidelines for employer-community partnerships to promote health within and beyond the workplace.
