Community Engagement
See below for information about how your organization can get involved in efforts to improve the well-being of our local community and the employees and families that live within it.
Creating Healthy Communities: An Engagement Tool
National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions
Many factors, including health behaviors, health care, social economic status, and physical environment affect how long and how well people live. As a result, not only can efforts to improve the health of an employed population affect a community, but the condition of that community and community-level initiatives also influence health in the worksite in return. This engagement tool helps employers and other stakeholders understand opportunities to improve health in their communities through an assessment of priorities, financial impact calculator, resources for action, and case studies.
Employer Partners in Health Care
The St. Louis Area Business Health Coalition (BHC)
The BHC's mission is to support employer efforts to improve the well-being of their enrollees and enhance the quality and overall value of their investments in health benefits. The BHC was created over 30 years ago to give area employers a collective voice on health care issues. Employers realized health care costs were rising fast. They founded the BHC as a forum to discuss why and find opportunities to improve health and health care. The BHC has evolved to offer innovative products and services, provide in-depth research on local health care trends, and help foster a culture of wellness in the community.
